I am a fibre artist based in Roscommon, Ireland. My inspiration comes from the landscapes and surroundings of my country studio.

I work in a variety of materials, paint, collage, mixed media - but my primary thought process is in fibres. I like to collect materials such as wool, rope, cotton, and twist and weave them together to form individual, original works of art.

home-about

Frances Crowe explores the movement of people across the globe and shares the narrative of their journeys in her large scale tapestries. Displacement, distrust, drowning and disappeared are a constant theme in her most recent body of work.
Finding new ways of expression through the use of unfamiliar materials such as nylon threads and metal frames, pushes the boundaries of traditional tapestry to its limit.

Crowe lives and works in her studio in Rural County Roscommon, Ireland.
She has had many solo shows and has participated in many group fibre arts exhibitions around the world. View her achievements here >
